Frequently Asked Questions

Does Oddesty K & Associates accept insurance?

Oddesty K Langham, LPC-S, NCC, is in network with BlueCross BlueShield and All Kids. LaNitra Jeter, ALC, Bria Hines ALC, Vondra Arnold, ALC and Dy’man Webb, ALC are in network with Alabama Child Medicaid. All of our providers participate in our reduced fee program based on availability. Each therapist has a certain number of slots on their schedule, dedicated to seeing reduced fee clients.

What can I expect from my first therapy session?

The initial therapy session also known as the intake session consists of many “housekeeping” things. Your therapist will review client’s rights and practice policies with you. Your therapist will then spend a large portion of the time gathering information about you (including medical history and any prior history of mental health treatment), your life and history (family, background), and your need for therapy. Finally, you and your therapist will begin working on a treatment plan for your therapeutic experience. Your therapist will answer any questions you have about how therapy works in this session.

How long does a therapy session last?

Therapy sessions last anywhere from 45min. to 60min. We ask that you block off the entire hour of your scheduled appointment to account for fluctuations in time. If you are enrolled in our reduced fee program, sessions are scheduled for 45min.

What is the cost of therapy?

When using insurance, the cost of therapy can vary and is dependent upon your insurance plan. You may be required to pay a copay or co-insurance. When you request therapy services, a part of that process includes verifying your insurance benefits. You will be advised of any out of pocket amount given to us initially by your insurance company prior to starting therapy.

What are telehealth sessions and why do you offer them?

Telehealth sessions involve the use of secure (HIPAA compliant) software to conduct sessions where the the therapist and the client are able to see and hear each other via a video call. We offer telehealth sessions as they ensure that therapy for our clients remains accessible. Many of our clients, work in industries that do not allow them to have therapy during our business hours if they have to account for commute time to travel to an office. We also service clients who have conflicts with childcare, transportation, chronic health concerns and disabilities that prevent them from being able to come into the office. We believe that there should be no barriers to seeking mental health care. We are committed to doing whatever we can to keep therapy available to anyone who needs it.

Do you have a late cancellation/ no show policy?

Yes, we have a very strict late cancellation and no show policy that there are no exceptions to. All sessions must be canceled or rescheduled prior to 24hrs before the session start time to avoid the $90 late cancellation/ no show charge.
